The US Open Women winner is 26-year-old female tennis player, Aryna Sabalenka. This is Sabalenka’s second year in a row to make it to the US Open Women’s final. Last year, Sabalenka admitted that she crumbled under pressure. This year she tried her best to keep positive and not let a few points lower her self confidence. Sabalenka said, “In those tough moments, I was trying to stay strong and trying to remind myself that I have been through a lot and I’m strong enough to hold under pressure.” At this moment all Sabalenka was trying to do was calm herself.
One of the motivations for Sabalenka to continue to play tennis was because she had lost her father 4 years ago who introduced her to the sport when she was 6 years old! She said to a reporter “We had one dream, that before 25 i will win a couple grand slams.” and wanted to put their family name in Tennis History for her father. Sabalenka said to one of the reporters at the US Open, “I would definitely say that this, like, it was the best moments.”
