Unlocking Potential

The Rise of Influencer Camps for Young Aspiring Creator
Unlocking+Potential

Kids nowadays have become more and more involved with the internet, specifically the job of being an influencer.

Being an influencer is slowly becoming more and more popular with it being primarily  a job that adults want to have. Kids’ mentality is now altering to the mindset of, “ How can I  pursue this?” Well we might have found the solution.

Influencers are a big part of today’s world. For those who are passionate about learning how to become one across the nation, schools and well-known summer camps have decided to create a camp to specifically teach those kids who want to gain the tools to become influencers later in life.

Influencer camp otherwise known as Creator camp has attracted over 1000 students, having over 11 locations across Texas and anticipates about 18 locations next year!

One camp in Katy, Texas includes activities like Minecraft Modding, Creative AI, and 3D game development, as well as basic courses that can teach about social media marketing and how to get brand deals. The program also discusses digital safety and the staff encourages campers to not use safe online practices.

Becoming an Influencer is a lot of kids’ dreams now, with statistics showing that 30% of kids ages 8-12 dreaming of one day being an influencer. Along with more than half of the 13-38 year olds wanting to learn how to be a social media influencer.

These camps provide workshops, relationships with influencers, and strategies to grow online.

At big universities like Cornell University, The University of California at Los Angeles, and the University of Southern California, there have been courses added that students can take about marketing and social media creation such as YouTube classes.

This camp is a great idea to help kids flourish and transform into influencers. It gives kids a place to go to learn more about becoming an influencer. Not only are kids learning more about being an influencer, they learn about digital safety to become educated adults in our tech world along with kids having mentors to guide them through their online journey.
