In a recent holiday commercial by Coca-Cola, AI was used to replace the human creativity of commercial making. A lot of people didn’t approve of this because it took away the creativity of human capability.
In the commercial, AI was used to create moving polar bears, a Christmas city scene, Coca-Cola trucks, and many more scenes containing imagery synonymous with Coca Cola holiday commercials. This was taken the wrong way by many artists, and viewers for fear that AI will one day replace creative minds and craftspeople in the industry.
AI has taken over in many industries because people have chosen to have artificial intelligence do their work for them. The use of AI may be easy to use for advertising companies and influencers, but it has caused viewers to feel like the Christmas magic was lessened.
While many people see the negative in this, the use of AI could also lessen the price of creating commercials, and is seen as “cost effective” for companies. This leads to technological improvements and people eventually coming to like the use of AI.
