When the calendar hits November 1st, the Holiday Season has officially started. In the Fort Worth area, there are many different festivities to participate in and go to with your friends, family, and other loved ones. In an article by KidsOutandAbout.com, they named 101 of the best things to do for the holidays. From exhibits to make you feel like you’re in the North Pole, to being able to go and look at Christmas lights, Fort Worth has it all.
- From November 2 to December 24, kids of all ages and their families can head to Bass Pro Shops and take a picture with Santa! There are also more fun activities, like Christmas tales and a Yuletide breakfast, that require reservations. This is an amazing experience for the whole family and can get everyone in the holiday spirit.
- From November 15 to January 5, The Gaylord Texan has a holiday ice experience that is fun for everyone. In this, families walk through a series of rooms with ice carvings for a holiday movie. This year, they will be showing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. There are also many other fun activities for everyone to enjoy. The best part is at the end of the night, you can settle into your hotel room and do it all again the next day!
- On the first Thursday of December, this year December 5, there is a parade of lights on Main Street in Grapevine. This is a fun experience for the entire family because there are floats with amazing lights that make you feel as if you’ve been transported to the North Pole. This year, the theme is Toys, Trains, and Candy Canes. The parade starts at 7:00 PM and is something you will not want to miss.
- From November 29 to December 23, head over to Casa Manana in Fort Worth to see a holiday musical that will get the whole family excited for the holidays. This year, Casa Manana is showing ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, a musical about the journey of gaining the Christmas spirit.
- From November 18 to January 5, take your whole family to the Stockyards and go ice skating. This is fun for everyone because they allow even beginners to try skating for the first time and have spectating areas with fireplaces and beverage bars as well. When you’re done ice skating, take a walk around the Stockyards and look at the Christmas lights, or go visit the Christmas Tree along with a nice dinner at Hotel Drover. Ice skating with the family is something that will be remembered for years to come.
