With district starting for field hockey, one of the senior captains Cambell Wynn has high hopes for the season. While they did not get the outcame they wanted in their first district game against St. Agnes, they are optimistic for their next game against Parish Episcopal.
When talking to Wynn about her goals for the season she said “Our goal this season is obviously to win state!” The team is very excited to see how the season is going to progress this year with their aspirations to win the TAPPS State Championship.
When asked about the team’s strengths this year Wynn said “I’d say one of the biggest strengths we’ve always had as a team is how close we all are. It’s like having 30 best friends and sisters on one team.” With a team so close knit the chemistry is going to be great which will improve their overall playing abilities.
As a captain, Wynn was asked about her personal goals on and off the field for the season. With her being a senior, and a captain her response was “On the field, my personal goal is to never give up. It’s simple but it’s true. I think it’s important for team leaders to always try and work the hardest to set an example for the rest of the team. Off the field, I want to make field hockey fun for the rest of the team. My goal is that when this year’s seniors are gone, the rest of our team will carry on the same goals and desire to keep playing. I want them to look back and think about how much fun they had.”
These goals are not only going to make her a better player, but will also push the players around her to succeed this year. With these goals she will be fulfilling her duties as captain and really leave a lasting mark and the next years of field hockey players.
The final question I asked Wynn was how important fan support was going to be this year, and her response was “we play better when we have people watching us. Hearing cheers, seeing signs, and getting support from our All Saints community is very important to us.”
As an All Saints Community we should make it a priority to come support our Saints Field Hockey team and appreciate the last year with our senior captain!
