With winter on the horizon, ski resorts begin to open, and people begin their drive towards the mountains.  In the back of their cars they carry a pair of skis, or maybe a snowboard if that’s what they prefer. 

The majority of people prefer skiing and have never even tried to snowboard, however, this is primarily due to the fact that snowboarding has only been popular for around twenty years, and the majority of snowboarders belong to the younger generation.  One student at All Saints, Hunter Tatarevich, when asked about which one was better, responded with “I have only ever gone skiing, but I have wanted to try snowboarding for a while now.” 

Another student, Lincoln Berg, says “I started snowboarding for the first time my seventh grade year, and it was so much better than skiing.”  A third student, Hank Parrish, said he had snowboarded his whole life, and hasn’t gotten a chance to try skiing yet but wants to. 

It seems like the norm is skiing, but people are open to change and want to try new things, and many like Berg, actually revealed how much fun snowboarding can be.
