This year in the NFL has been one of the most exciting seasons personally I’ve ever seen. There have been a lot of close, matchups, and unexpected twists, and turns. Especially with the 49ers beating the 10-1 Eagles last Sunday. This was a big upset seeing how the Eagles looked like the best team in the league right now. This shows that all of the playoffs are completely up for grabs and nothing is guaranteed. What I want to know is what do the people of All Saints think about this year’s NFL playoff season?
I went around and asked a few of All Saints football players to see what they thought. First I asked. 10th grade. all saints football linebacker Keyon Adkins. When asked who he thought the most underrated team was, he said “the lions because they are 9-3 and have never been looked at as a solid team.” When asked who the best team in the league was, Adkins said “The Bills, because they have a lot of explosive players that have the potential to turn the city around. When asked who he thinks is going to the Super Bowl he said, “The Bills and The 49ers because they’re both solid strong teams that have the potential to take off.”
Next, I asked sophomore defensive tackle, Randolph Rogers, what he thought. Rogers said that “The 49ers because they beat the Eagles.” Rogers believes that “The 49ers because they have a prestigious team with a bunch of established players that have proven to be consistently good.” His current Super Bowl prediction is “49ers against the Kansas City Chiefs and the 49ers are going to take it all.”
When I interviewed Mr. Foster, All Saints history teacher, said the most underrated NFL team is the “Seahawks because they’re a solid team you wouldn’t expect and that might be recency bias because they just beat the Cowboys but they’re looking really solid.” He also said that, “The best team in the league changes week to week between the Eagles and 49ers but honestly it looks like the 49ers because they swept the Cowboys and the Eagles who are the other best two teams in the league and they did it authoritatively.” He thinks that the Super Bowl matchup could be many possible outcomes, “The Cowboys look really good, but this happens every year where we end up disappointed. The Chiefs are overrated this year so I have to go with the Eagles and Dolphins. It’s hard to say that they’re underrated because they are leading their division but they (Dolphins) look extremely good this year.”
I also interviewed senior offensive guard Jhett Gordon, and he said that the most underrated team in the league was “The Green Bay Packers because they have a lot of players who normally wouldn’t be expected to play that well, but they have proven that they can hang with some of the better teams in the league.” When asked who the best team in the league, “The Cowboys because they’ve been high energy and explosive all year. I’m also a Cowboys fan through and through so it might be a little biased.” Gordon’s Super Bowl prediction is “The Cowboys and The Ravens because they’re both like I said earlier, high-energy and explosive and if they perform to their best ability, they are the best 2 teams in the league, but the Boys are going to come out on top.”
Lastly, I interviewed star senior All Saints running back Reid Watkins. “The Dolphins are the most underrated team in the league because they have the most weapons on the offense and their defense is cold but not a lot of people talk about them. The 49ers are the best team in the league because they’ve beaten some of the top ranked teams in the league pretty easily. The Super Bowl is going to be the Eagles vs. The Dolphins.” Reid Also wanted to note that his predictions are the most correct because he is second in his fantasy league.
There are a lot of different opinions this year going into the NFL because there are so many teams that are extremely close and competitive and could edge their way into the playoffs. I am extremely excited to see how these final predictions will turn out as we get closer and closer to the end of the year.
