Now that the 2023 football season is over, all football athletes are about to take on 4 grueling months of workouts. Have you ever wondered what these athletes do on the side, and how they keep their mind in the right state of mind?
I spoke to a few Juniors, soon to be seniors, about the upcoming offseason. They all seem to have a chip on their shoulder, following this past season’s disappointing end. I asked Jayden Cleary, a 2025 Linebacker what his plans are this offseason? Cleary responded with, “Get in the lab. Start working on my craft and watch over a lot of last season’s films. Make sure to watch all the highlights and lowlights and ensure what I can do to better myself. I will make sure to trust God’s Plan.”
Cleary will be facing his first offseason at All Saints’ Episcopal and is sure to make the most of it. How will you keep the right mindset this offseason Jayden? “Everytime I think I want to give up I will remember back to the time when Liberty ended my season and I do not want that for anyone.” The Liberty Christian Warriors took down the All Saints’ Saints in the TAPPS Division 2 State Semifinal with a final score of 45-17.
Adding on to Cleary’s remarks, I spoke to star 2025 Wide Receiver Qumonte Williams Jr. on his plans for this offseason. “I’m going to put in work, and get better.” Williams Jr. stated. Williams Jr. is new to All Saints’ and, like Cleary, plans to make the most out of this offseason. “I’m not going to worry about the past and look to the future.” Williams Jr. hopes to make his mark on recruiters lists this offseason and hopes to win it all next season.
The upcoming season will be one to remember, all starting with the basics, offseason workouts.
