The upper school students of All Saints’ Episcopal School are celebrating their artistic abilities by creating art with chalk on the sidewalks by the Sellers & Campbell Student Union. The 2023 festival is the 2nd Annual Chalk Art Celebration.
This year’s theme is “Spring,” which means students will be drawing things like flowers and birds. To enter the festival, the students got into pairs and submitted a sketch of their idea to upper school visual art teachers, Bailey Wiseman ’13 and Lauren Sands. This year 20 teams entered in the festival, the highest participation yet.
The students got all day off of school on March 7 to spend their day outside creating these beautiful drawings.
The drawings will be on the sidewalks until Spring Break so if you would like to see them, they are open to everyone, just be sure to watch the forecast and get there before it rains!
If you can’t make this festive, another one will be happening during the ISAS week so you can purchase a ticket or participate in it if you would like.
