Pretty much everyone gets their nails done these days. But who and what age is it appropriate for? Well, although there are no age limits to getting your nails done, there are certain ways of getting them done better for different ages. For a toddler, it is probably best for them to get regular polish because there is really no harm in that, and if you start getting acrylics or even dip at a young age it could lead to problems earlier on in their nails. But as you get older, you can start introducing yourself to gel or even dip for special occasions. But now most teen girls always have their nails done.

Makena Schimmels is a freshman here at All Saints who has lots of experience getting her nails done. When asked what her favorite and least favorite colors were, Makena Schimmels said “I like pink alot but I dont like black or brown”. Schimmel’s also says “colored french or swirls” are her favorite designs. Schimmels recommends Deluxe Nail Salon and plans to keep returning there in the future.

Alyssa Taylor is also a freshman at All Saints who always has her nails done. Alyssa Taylor says “pink and white” are her two favorite colors to get and also the trendiest but she says “Red, Orange, and Yellow” are the colors she stays away from. Taylor’s favorite nails she’s ever gotten were “Glow in the dark green because they were so fun.” Taylor says that the worst experience was “one time I got a really bad nail tech and they did these really awful dots on my nails, and it looked like I had pimples on my nails”. She goes to 77 Nail Bar and recommends it to others trying to get super cute nails. She also says “If you have never gotten dip, get them because they are the best.” 

There are many nail salons here in Fort Worth, but which ones are the best to try? A few places to try are Deluxe Nail Salon on Hulen, 77 Nail Bar on Bryant Irvin, Resort Nail Salon in Waterside, and Clearfork Nails. 

For someone who is new to the world of nails and wondering what is simple and trendy you should try a gel or dip manicure. The colors that usually never end up going bad are various shades of pink, white, and purple.
