Homecoming week at All Saints Episcopal School is always lively, with many staff members dressing up alongside their spirited students.
The teachers in the All Saints Episcopal community believe that it is important to participate in the themes with students to show their school spirit and support for our football team and the ASES community. Jen Jones says, “I do think it’s important to dress up as a teacher because it shows students that you support them and are part of the community.” Many of our cherished teachers enjoyed the first theme of the week: pajama day. Clint Foster states, “I think my favorite theme to participate in this year was pajama day, simply because I was excited to wear my Super Mario pants,” and Jones exclaimed, “I would say my favorite theme was pajamas. Everyone loves being in comfy clothes, which I do too.”
The teachers’ thoughts on the most creative theme concluded that Salad Dressing Day was the winner. They loved seeing all the different grades dressed in their creative dressings. Jones says, “I think the salad dressing theme was very creative,” and Foster agrees, “But my favorite day overall was probably Salad Dressings. It was fun to see all the creative ways the students dressed according to the theme.”
Jones and Foster mentioned some of their favorite student costumes and some of their own inventive or fun outfits. There were so many amazing costumes that Foster said, “It’s hard to remember who dressed as what, but I definitely remember Olive Anne’s shark-attack outfit, Ried and Ella’s Greek god look, and Blake’s biker.” Jones truly enjoyed dressing up herself, stating, “Betsy, Denny, and I also wore matching Harley Davidson shirts on Biker day,” and she says, “Dani Ramirez loves to dress up during theme weeks, so we always participate.”
All in all, the week before Homecoming is a blast, and theme days can be enjoyed by teachers and students alike. This creates an amazing atmosphere for everyone in preparation for the big game and the dance.
