Student Visionaries of the Year is a campaign that fundraises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This year, a group of All Saints’ junior girls are participating in this seven-week campaign. Edith Brockway is leading this team along with co-candidate Addison Feld. The members of the team raise money by securing sponsorships and donations from friends, family, and local businesses. They have had fundraising events partnered with Nemain Marcus, Loveshackfancy, Kendra Scott, Hale House, and more!
I had a chance to speak with candidate Edith Brockway and co-candidate Addison Feld, to know more about their passion and why they wanted to participate.
Edith: My name is Edith Brockway! My sophomore year of High School my dear friend Lillian Buchanan invited me to join her team! I fell in love with the organization and went on to become Team member of the year. My junior year I went on to make up my own team of dedicated students and in 7 weeks we raised over $248,000 winning Students Visionaries of the Year for Tarrant County!
Addison: Hi I’m Addison Feld! I was given the opportunity to be a candidate from my co-candidate Edith Brockway. My Grandfather, Papa David passed away from acute leukemia and in his honor I joined the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Our team accomplished a little more than $248,000!!!
The girls who participate all share one goal, and that goal is to raise the most money in order to benefit the lives of those coping with various cancer diseases. Team member Sadie Thompson has committed herself to this mission. “I believe that it is important to make a difference in others lives in any way I can.” Team member Grace Yater is also extremely committed to this mission. “It brings me joy to know that I am making a difference in the world but most importantly in the lives of those struggling with cancer.”
