The boys golf team at All Saints’ in years past has not been the most popular among the students, except for one player in the last four years, Ethan Dial, the only player to go D1. This year it is different, because this year’s golf team has multiple players who can take us all the way.
This fall season is the golf team’s “preseason” — getting ready for spring. Their first tournament was in Waco, which was a match play event. The team would end up winning the event with clutch players Cole Hove and Braxton Bauer securing wins in the last match. They would take home the banner for the Tapps match play for 2022. Their second tournament was in Abilene at Diamondback golf club. The first day as a team they would break 300, a first for our coach.
On the first day, Dial would shoot 6 under 65 and have a 7 shot lead going into day 2 for the individual. The team going into day two would have the lead by one stroke. The second day the team would play solid, while finishing third as a team. Charlie Dial would bring home 1st while the team finished on the podium. This fall season has shown the All Saints’ community that the golf team has arrived and is here to play. This spring is going to be fun to watch as the boys golf team goes for it all.
