Once football is all done and over, it’s time for soccer and basketball! Realistically, the Saints’ soccer team is facing some big challenges, losing thirteen seniors from the class of 22’ — almost the whole team. The team is young, having a few juniors and seniors with a sophomore and freshman dominant team. Thankfully, the team dropped down a division, so hope is still there.
“The seniors this year are going to have to carry the work and mood of the team this year,” said Braden Lowrance 23’.“The team is looking immaculate, going to state,” said Cole Sorokolit 23’.
After getting some insight from fellow Saints’ seniors, there are some mixed emotions following the year. Some being very optimistic, and others being doubtful. The Saints’ had to face the Oakridge Owls at home, hoping to take the win. “I believe that our team will pull through and take the dub, ” says Rhett Norris 25’. “I have faith that we will beat Oakridge and have the best season we’ve had in a while,” according to Blake Johnson 24’.
It will be a challenge to top last year’s team, arguably the best team from the Saints’ soccer team in a long time. There is always hope considering the team is moving down a division and other teams have also lost their seniors. There will likely be ups and downs this season, but hope is still left to win some games and go make the push for state. “I believe that our team has a very good chance at going deep in the playoffs this year,” says Jake Milliken 23’.
