This season in College Football has been a crazy one. As many teams that were expected to have a great season such as Alabama, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma have not met their expectations and teams such as TCU, Tulane, and Illinois who have exceeded their expectations. Football players in our community may be wavering in where they want to go because of how unexpected this year of college football has been.
Jayvont Williams is a current senior football player at All Saints Episcopal School and he is #21 on the field. He’s a defensive back and has played football for 15 years. He learned to play from his dad and watch football on the TV. He wants to play football in college and has 9 offers from schools including Jackson State, Georgetown, Army, Navy, and Colgate. He also has interest from Baylor, Missouri, and Oklahoma State. His favorite college is Michigan University because his dad went there and he likes how the program is organized.
This college football season has changed his opinion on where he wants go to because of how it has shows that Oklahoma is incompetent and the Big 12 is a more competitive conference than what most people thought and all the schools in the conference have shown they can compete with the most advanced schools.
Cole Edrich is a current junior football player at All Saints Episcopal School and he is #74 on the field. He’s an offensive lineman and has played football since he was 6. He learned to play from an old TCU football player, he grew up playing quarterback but once he came to All Saints, the Brokemeyer’s taught him how to play offensive line. He wants to play football in college and has interest from schools including TCU, Nebraska, Villanova, University of Pennsylvania, Navy, and Army. His favorite college is the University of Nebraska, he likes it because of the football program, he also likes the campus and the state of Nebraska as a whole.
Even though this college football decision has not been a good one for Nebraska, Cole is a loyal person, and he still wants to go there. In the end, he wants to go to Nebraska after this unexpected college football season.
Charlie Johnson is a senior football player at All Saints. He’s an offensive lineman and he is #77 on the field. He has played football since he was in 3rd grade and was taught to play football from Jayvont Williams’ dad. He has offers from schools including Fordham, Bucknell, Colgate, Western Kentucky, Texas State, and Georgetown. He has interest from Duke and TCU. His favorite college is TCU because they’re fun to watch and they’re the hometown team.
This college football season has affected Charlie by how it helps him understand the transfer portal and how colleges can turn around their teams in one offseason because they can get any player in the transfer portal. It also is showing him how he may be able to use it in college.
