There is new Slang all around! Many new terms these days can be very confusing especially if you have no idea what they mean or how they even evolved so we are going to cover some populars ones that you might have heard in the hallway before.
Some words we use now are really just new spins on old ideas. For example the term ‘Rizz’ is a simplified term of charisma which means someone’s charm or influence on others. And when someone is ‘standing on business’ they are handling a serious matter and have no time for games.
There are also some very popular phrases being used nowadays like ‘I pick Clarke’ which is a term someone said in the popular TV show Love Island USA.
Other slang can get a little weird and don’t specifically mean anything like ‘67’ or ‘Skibiddi Toilet Rizz.’ If someone gets ‘clocked’ they have been insulted or exposed. ‘Chopped’ and ‘Unc’ can mean you have been rejected. These terms are usually used to describe someone who is unattractive.
Even travel gets a shoutout with “Nothing Beats a Jet 2 Holiday”- a very popular meme that has become spammed all throughout Tiktok.
Overall there are tons of popular slang terms but these are just a few out of many.
